The establishment of the community in St John’s Medical Collage, Bangalore has been erected in the year 1998 for the purpose to be a part of the local church in order to co-operate with the plan and goals of the CBCI (Catholic Bishops Conference of India).
St John’s community (Maria Block) is formed by professionally trained sisters, designated for the professional studies and some sisters are also engaged as staff in various departments of the hospital, like, dietary, laundry, hostels, chapel and person in charge of the hospitality.
The beauty of the existence of the Cottolengo sisters in the campus of the hospital is to be integrated with the multi religious congregations.
