Cottolengo Sisters in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan, which is a transcontinental landlocked country located mainly in Central Asia and partly in Eastern Europe. The sisters live in a Town called Karaganda, at Astana. Today, Catholics in Kazakhstan make up a minority, 1.3 percent, of the predominantly Muslim and Orthodox Christian society. Majority of the population don’t have any religion.

As per the request of the local bishop, the presence of the charism of Cottolengo was sowed in the land of Kazakhstan on 13th December 2022. Today our sisters are rendering their service in the center called Mayak (which means Light House), for the differently abled persons.
