Cottolengo Sisters in Chikkarasampalayam

The community of Chikkarasampalyam, at Erode District, in Ooty Diocese, is erected in the year of 2013, with the purpose of pastoral activities, visiting the families of the poor and the sick, our sisters are teaching in the English Medium school, where the students come from different places, doing the Pastoral activities in the Parish, visiting the families, helping them in their needs.

Really we are happy and joyful to serve these poor people and sharing the Charism of our dear Founder left to us. Our service is appreciated by the people.

Cottolengo presence at Chikkarasampalayam.

In the year 2013 onwards, cottolengo charism started to flourish in the good soil in the Ootty diocese at Chikkarasampalayam. Sisters started to do their ministry in the parish and in the field of Education.

According to the provident will of the Father Almighty on 28th August 2023, the Little House of Divine Providence has blessed a convent for the sisters of Cottolengo.

His excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Amalraj, bishop of Oollakkund blessed the new house for the service of the people of that locality. Mother General Rev. Elda together with her counselor Rev. Sr. Mary Soshiyath and Rev. Sr. Provincial Lovely ingutated the convent.

Presence of Cottolengo Priests, Brothers, Sisters, Novices and inmates colored and witnessed the family spirit of the Cottolengo .Diocesian priests, sisters from another convents , benefactors and parishioners also were there for the function.

Now there are three sisters rendering their services for the parish and working as Principal and teachers in the parish school.
